  • 2x2 digital passport photo taken against a solid background (jpeg format)
  • English language profieciency exam (TOEFL or IELTS exam scores)
Transcripts:

Official transcripts must arrive to your regional TAU office. Please click the following link to find the address of your regional TAU Office: http://international.tau.ac.il/prospective-students/admissions-process/overseas-program-offices.html

Scans or photocopies of transcripts will not be accepted.
 
Letters of Recommendation:

Letters of Recommendation should be submitted electronically through the TAU Student Portal or be sent to your regional TAU office in stamped and sealed envelopes. Official transcripts must arrive to the relevant TAU office via mail.

It is preferable to present academic letters of recommendation, however, you may also submit professional letters of recommendation.

Application Fee Payment:
An non-refundable application processing fee must be received for each application. The application fee applies to one application only, and cannot be transferred to a subsequent application were you to withdraw your candidacy to the program.

The application fee can be paid via credit card through the TAU student portal (https://portal.telavivuniv.org/login.php?accesscheck=%2Findex.php). Or, you may submit a check for $100 to your regional TAU office.

Applications will not be considered until the processing fee has been paid.

Personal Statement:

The MAMES program asks you to provide a statement describing your motivations for studying the Middle East at Tel Aviv University. The personal statement is an excellent opportunity to share any unique experiences you've had or qualities you possess that you believe make you especially qualified to succeed as an MA student. We also encourage you to discuss your academic and professional goals, and any particular research questions you may have. Personal statements should be between 1-4 pages in length, double-spaced.

English Language Proficiency Exam:

Applicants who do not speak English as a native language must present evidence of English proficiency with TOEFL or IELTS exam scores. The minimum TOEFL score requirement is as follows: Internet based test 89, computer based test 223 and Paper based test is 582. TAU's International ETS code is 7704. Your IELTS score must be at least 6.5.

Applicants do not need to submit both TOEFL and IELTS scores; one or the other is sufficient.

The English Language Proficiency Exam requirement will be waived for non-native English speakers who have earned a BA or higher in an English speaking country.
